For the past 10 years, the Concerned Christian Men have sponsored Vocational Saturday, one of our empowering after school programs designed to expose young men to the potential careers in a number of different fields. These sessions provide students with hands on experience under the guidance of experts in the various professional areas of expertise. Our goal is to develop and strengthen the self-efficacy of our students, while encouraging them to set positive long term goals and apply themselves academically.
Each year, we work hard to offer a number classes to participating young men. Each class offers a general introduction to the field and includes a class project to help students gain a better understanding of the career. This methodology stimulates the minds of our students while, at the same time, illustrating the interdisciplinary nature of learning. Classes we have offered as a part of this after school program include:
